NOTE
In connection with the administrative reorganization of FAO, it has been decided that the name of each division shall be confined to one term only, and accordingly the Division of Forestry and Forest Products will in future be known as the "Forestry Division". This change will not involve any modification in the Division's activities or responsibilities. The term "forestry" as interpreted by FAO covers both management and conservation of forest resources as well as production, distribution and consumption of forest products.
UNASYLVA is prepared by the Forestry Division, and published by the Information Division of FAO at the Organization's headquarters in Rome. UNASYLVA is published in English, French and Spanish. In conformity with the established custom of FAO, all units of measurement used in UNASYLVA are given in the author's figures. The metric equivalents are added, where necessary, in parentheses. UNASYLVA may be obtained from the sales agents listed on the back cover. Annual subscription US$2.50, single copy 65 cents; rates are payable in local currencies when orders are placed through local sales agents. A full series of back numbers is still available.
